Audiobook editing services
Professional Audiobook Editing for Authors and Narrators
We turn raw, unedited narration into clean, natural-sounding chapters. Every retake, stumble, mouth click and awkward pause is removed by a human editor who listens to your whole book.

What we edit
What’s Included in Our Audiobook Editing
Audiobook editing is the step between recording and mastering. It is where most of the listening experience is won or lost. Our editors work in a DAW with your manuscript open, chapter by chapter.
- Retakes, false starts and misreads
- Repeated lines from punch-and-roll
- Mouth clicks, lip smacks, pops
- Plosives and harsh sibilance
- Distracting breaths, kept natural
- Unnatural pauses and rushed gaps
- Chair creaks, page turns, bumps
- Background hum and room noise
- Level jumps between sessions
- Clean crossfades on every edit
Our process
How We Edit Your Audiobook
1. Assess the raw audio
We check your recording for noise, echo and level problems on a free sample first, so you know what the finished book will sound like.
2. Edit chapter by chapter
Editors follow your script, keep the best take, and remove errors and noise without making your voice sound processed. (See our audiobook editing workflow.)
3. Pace and polish
We set consistent gaps between sentences, paragraphs and scene breaks so the book breathes like a professional production.
4. Hand off to mastering
Edited chapters move to proofing (if included) and then ACX mastering before delivery.

Recorded at home?
Editing for Self-Narrated Audiobooks
Most of our clients record in a closet, spare room or home booth. Home recordings often carry room echo, computer fan noise and level changes between sessions. We clean these up carefully, so your audiobook sounds consistent from the first chapter to the last.
If your raw audio has problems that editing can’t fully fix, we tell you on the free sample — before you pay anything — and suggest simple changes to your setup.

Audiobook Editing Rates

| Package | Includes | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Edit + Master | Full editing, noise cleanup, ACX mastering | $75 / PFH |
| Complete Production | Editing, word-for-word proofing, mastering | $110 / PFH |
FAQ
Audiobook Editing FAQs
What does an audiobook editor do?
An audiobook editor removes mistakes, retakes, noises and unwanted pauses from raw narration, then smooths pacing and levels so the recording sounds continuous and professional.
How long does it take to edit one finished hour?
Detailed editing usually takes 2–4 hours of work per finished hour, depending on how clean the raw recording is. A typical 8-hour book is delivered in 7–12 business days.
Do you edit audiobooks recorded with punch-and-roll?
Yes. Punch-and-roll recordings are usually faster to edit. We also edit open-record (“record everything”) sessions where you re-read lines after a mistake.
Can you match my edits to a specific style or publisher spec?
Yes. Send us your style notes or publisher requirements and we’ll follow them for gaps, breaths, chapter heads and file naming.
